What We Do
Martin’s House & Barn provides food support for Caroline County residents and others in need at its 14374 Benedictine Lane location in Ridgely, MD.
Recipients must wear a mask during the distribution and should remain in their vehicles while a staff person brings to them a selection of food and bags of perishable and nonperishable groceries and household items.
Food distribution hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., and Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Martin's House & Barn's Thrift Shop, also located in the Barn, offers quality clothing and household items and is open and accepting donations during the following hours:
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8:30 – 11:30 am
Wednesday: 6:00 - 7:30 pm
The First Saturday of Each Month: 8:00 am – 12 noon
Martin’s House & Barn provides an array of services through a single point of entry with a dignified approach to address immediate and long-term needs on a four-acre rural complex.
Family Shelter
Our mission is to help meet basic human needs.
The Family Shelter in Martin’s House provides a safe haven for families struggling with homelessness.
Food Pantry
Our vision is a community without homelessness, hunger, and poverty.
The Food Pantry is located in the Barn and supported by local businesses, farms, caring donors, and the Maryland Food Bank. Regular programming during Food Pantry hours allows clients to access information on community services, health information, educational opportunities, and life skills classes.
Thrift Store
We provide clothing, furniture, and household items to help local families in need.
Martin's House & Barn's Thrift Shop, also located in the Barn, offers quality clothing and household items and is now open and accepting donations:
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8:30 – 11:30 am

Homelessness Prevention Services
Poverty is not a choice. We show compassion and respect for all our clients as they struggle with challenging situations and realities.
Martin's House & Barn's Homelessness Prevention Services focuses on a “Housing First” approach to help community clients avoid eviction and shelter clients to quickly get into their own housing. Case management helps clients determine obstacles, make a plan and navigate available sources.
